Day 13 – Exams & Safety Brief

Today is this big one. We have the week three exam today that will happen at about 1300 hours. Prior to taking the exam we have to go to this safety briefing. Ohh yeah, this is start of a four-day weekend. Due to Labor Day we all get a four-day weekend. A lot fo the people here are going to be going home to see familia and other important people. Some people are going to stay local and others are hving people fly in to see them.

I know this for a fact. My babey will be coming to see me and she will be here tomorrow sometime. I can’t wait.

Well, anyways, the exam went well and nobody failed the test. Some gotlower scores than others obviously. I got an 87% and this one is the best that I have gotten so far. The day was very simple. As stated earlier, the safety briefing was very short and we saw a unique promotion.

During the promotion, this NCO got announced by a WWE annoucer style. It was very interesting. Should’ve been there. Anyways, until next time, be safe and enjoy the weekend. This is Casey Roberts reporting.

Day 12 – Was there a discussion?

Today was interesting just in the fact that there was really no point of us being there. It was basically a very long discussion on what to expect from the entire recruiting command. We had this onne high ranking character come into the class for a little bit to take over the class for a little bit. The primary instructor had an appointment to take care of. Well, we basically had a discussion about the recruiting command. It was very interesting..

The secondary instructor turned the floor over by saying, “I am going to talk to you folks about what recruiting really is!” This kinda surprised us. We were suppose to go over the Day 11 material because it carried over from yesterday. Thank the man up stairs for having this happen. The day was simple and there were several questions asked. Anyways, as I said, the day was simple, but it seemed to drag out a bit while the discussion continued. But maybe tomorrow something better will happen. We do have the exams for week three tomorrow.

These exams will be a three week review over all the crap that was covered in weeks one through three. Good luck with that people. Until next time, this is Casey Roberts reporting.

Day 11 – School Recruiter Programs

Ohh holy hell. This was a bute. We spent most of the day flying through these classes. They were very simple classes and didn’t need much of an explanation. Then we came to the School Recruiter Program and what the requirements are for that particular part of recruiting. WOW!

There are so many students that say that half the stuff that was talked about went in one ear lobe and out the other. I don’t really know what to say. This class was probably one of the slowest classes so far. There was so much information on these slides, considering there were 93 total slides, that I don’t really remember what was really going on. I do understand the material, but it seems like there is so much more there.

I honestly think that when we are out of the school, get our orders, and get to our new duty station, our duty station will not let us fail. They will guide us in the correct direction. Think about it, if they let us fail, then they may not make the mission requirement. Now we wouldn’t want that to happen, now would we? But, until next time folks, thanks for joining us tonight. This is Casey Roberts reporting. Good night.

Day 10 – Orientation, Incentives, Prohibited Actions

This week is going to be nothing but Powerpoint presentation from what people/instructors are telling us. Well, we got our first bite of this today. I never thought that it would be so… blah.

We started the day with our every other day PT session and that was an interesting run. When we formed up, we did what we do at every PT session. We marched over to the meeting place. After we did all of our formalities, we moved out as a full class. While the Class Leader was marhing us, to a cadence, but not to a one we would sound off on, one of the instructors stated, and I quote, “Can I get a cadence?” The Class Leader continued to march after he gave this dude the look of death. The instructor waited not even a minute and stated, “How about a yellow bird? Can I get a yellow bird?” Without hesitation, the Class Leader turned around to the instructor and said, “Do you want to march them Sergeant?” Now I remind you that the instructor is a Sergeant First Class (SFC) and the Class Leader is also a SFC. Hell, it takes an act of congress to take either one of their ranks. It was just a little pissing contest that I thought was a little funny.

Now, check this out. When that instructor came up and did a couple of cadences, our class didn’t really sound off. There were a couple of people that did and we sounded like shit. Honestly. When another instructor came up and started to call cadence, the entire class sounded off. It was loud and motivating. It was funny. I guess you had to be there.

Once we got to class, the slide show presentations started. We followed along on our computers which was not too bad, but I wish that presentations were not so big in this organization. One of our classes was a class on the New Recruiter Program. It is basically an OJT style program that gets you focused on the job at hand. It teaches you the ropes and the reins and the joys of the pain, and they call it recruiting. Sorry, it was there. I had to say it.

There was a few other things we went over to include what we can and can not do. Go figure, I can NOT sleep with potential recruits/applicants. Who would have thought that this might not be a good idea. Some of the crap we went over was rediculous if you had only one percent of common sense in your head. We also talked about the incentive program that is in place for recruiters. This organization is trying very hard to pay the recruiters with its incentives that are in place. But it has it’s regulations in place to assist you with the understanding of these types of programs. Feel free to check out the files. Until next time, this is Casey Roberts.
