This is a day that caused headaches for everybody. We, again, have a new instructor and he will be our instructor for three whole weeks. This should enable the class to have a some consistancy with the instruction of the material in the class. Here’s the thing. The class, as of right now, has about 60 some odd people in it. The RRS took the class and broke it down into, I believe, four groups. There are about 16 people per group/classroom.
First things first. We actually had to get up in front of the class and tell our army story. I was able to do mine this time. Last week, I was told that I was boring and that I sucked. So this week I thought that I did very well. I kept the story rolling and there was a small deal of humor involved.
Once everybody got done with their army stories, we started to talk about the first subject on the schedule which was Prospecting Operations. Prospecting Operations basically deal with how to talk to a person whether it be on a telephone or face to face. We were going to be learning about the telephone this week. The instructor put a very strong emphasis on knowing a thousand things. I was almost lost.
They emphasized, on more than one occasion, that we need to utilize all of the problem solving steps. Now, I remind you that there are seven of these steps.
- Identify the problem
- Identify the facts and assumptions
- Gather possible solutions
- Analyze possible solutions
- Compare the solutions
- Execute the best working solutions
- Asses the executed decision
Well, at least this is what I understand. I could be wrong, but they make sense to me. By the time lunch came around, I had a pounding headache. I thought at this time the food would be great. Well, the good news, the headache went away. The bad news, as soon as I came back into the classroom, the headache took the express lane straight back to my head. It got there quick.
Tomorrow, we will be talking on the phone with our classmates and learning this whole propspecting thing. I am not sure how I am going to do. I only know that I have to do what I can and attempt to do my best. Well folks, until next time, this is Warrior Roberts.
