Day 28 – RECEX Telephone & Interviews

The day we have been waiting for. Today is the mark of our Recruiting Excercise (RECEX). The RECEX consists of a telephone call. During this telephone call, which is to an evaluator, we have to find out about a person and potentially get them to want to join us in a little meeting. You will later find out that this is called the Army Interview. Once we have found out about this person and we have what kind of education he/she is looking for, we can do some research. During this portion of the RECEX, we will find out what it costs in the civilian community to go to school to earn whatever degree he/she is attempting to receive.

I will cover more about this later.

The telephone calls were all completed in the morning and the interviews started in the early afternoon. Pretty much directly after lunch was completed, the interviews were started.

My telephone call was actually pretty simple. I was really worried a lot about nothing. Just take in stride and do what you were taught! You will be fine.

We do not have our interview, meaning our group of three, until tomorrow afternoon. This will happen immediately after lunch is terminated. We have to be back in the classroom no later than 1245 hours tomorrow so we can be briefed on our interview.

Well folks, this is all for now, until next time, this is Warrior Roberts reporting. HOOAH!

Weekend 6 of 6

This was somewhat a relaxing weekend. There is a lot of pressure on everybody because we start the whole Recruiting Excercise (RECEX) on Monday. I am not really looking forward to this. Anyways, enough about the whole work thing. I am kinda saddend that this is the last weekend that I will be here. Only one reason why I would like to stay here is because it has been fun and I hate my MOS. Unless you love to babysit children/grown ass men/women, then working inside of a jail is for you. But hey, you know what they say, all great things come to an end.

But this weekend, the small group class decided to get together and go out. We had a blast. We all watched the UFC fights and cheered the dudes on. It was fun. That happened on Saturday and on Sunday, we did not a damn thing. Some people got together to play a little friendly game of football at the PT Field. I guess it went well. I was too busy sleeping while these jokers were conducting their PT/football. Plus I am not that athletic. Well, folks, that about sums up the weekend, until next time, this is Casey Roberts.

Day 27 – Capstone Test & RECEX Brief

Today was a damn simple day. We had to do the whole PT thing this morning and we had to be at the classroom no later than 0830 hours. They wanted us to go and take the test so we could be done with it. Great news folks! This test had a three hour time limit and there was fifty questions. I was able to finish the test and passed. Good shit.

We had to report back to the classroom at 1300 hours for our RECEX briefing. During this briefing we were told how the process was going to go and we also got the initial part of our lead. They were used for our phone calls that were going to take place on Monday. Yeah! Some people are scheduled to make both the phone call and the Army Interview on Monday. I have to make the phone call on Monday and conduct the Army Interview on Tuesday. Well, once the briefing was done, we were dismissed for the weekend. We got out of there at about 1400 hours.

No biggie. Until next time, this is Warrior Roberts reporting.

Day 26 – Capstone Review

Tomorrow is the big day. We have the capstone test tomorrow. This test is going to cover the entire six week period from day zero through today. The review was somewhat extensive but I believe everybody will do just fine. The instructors told us that majority of the class will get about eighty to eighty-five percent on the exam. I will be sure to add another entry for tomorrow with the test results.

The only thing we did today was go over a few telephone calls and review for the capstone exam. That was about all we did. Until next time folks, this is Casey Roberts reporting.
