Day 32 – Graduation

Need I say more? Today is the day we have been waiting six weeks for. Starting from the day of our reporting to the installation all the way through to this fine day, it has been fun and relaxing. We all have learned a lot about the new business we are about to go into. At 1030 hours, we will walk across the stage and take our diplomas. We have earned our Badge.

The morning will start a little earlier than 1030 hours. We will rise and shine at about 0700 hours. We have to be out of the room no later than 0800 hours. We will sign out of our rooms and then go to breakfast for the last time. We will be at the formation area no later than 0930 hours for accountability and an alphabetized name line up. We will be standing outside of the SSI Auditorium no later than 1000 hours. Life is grand. Once this is all done, we will get our folders, get to the vehicles (if we drove), and roll out. I have an eighteen hour drive in front of me. Not looking forward to that, however, I am looking forward to getting home to be with my babey.

Well, all in all folks it was great. It was great writing about all of the little happenings that went on in the class. To the class of 033-06, Thanks! I wish you all the best, however, folks let me tell you something, this is a DOG EAT DOG business. So stay safe and stay legal. I don’t want to read anybody’s name in the LEGAL EAGLE. Stay cool folks.

This will be that last entry of this blog. So folks, take care of yourselves and each other. This is Casey “Warrior” Roberts reporting. Roberts OUT!

Day 31 – Outbrief, Orders, and Practice

Here is a hell of a day. All morning we were in the RECEX waiting room, which is just a bigger class room, and we received our outbrief from the lady that gives our orders to us. These orders allow you to wear the Recruiter Badge, it adds the V4 identifier to our MOS and best of all, it gives you permission to get the hell out of your current job. This is a plus for me!

Anyways, once we were done with our outbriefs, at about 1100 hours, we did a small practice for our graduation ceremony. It only took about an hour or so. So that was not all that bad. We were released to go to lunch and at 1330 hours, we had to make a meet at the CIF place to get our newly issued ACUs. We were authorized two pairs of ACUs, one pair of boots, two t-shirts, and a ACU cap. Hot shit. I didn’t have to buy anything this time around. That was our day.

Tomorrow is the day we have been waiting for. We actually graduate at 1030 hours. Tomorrow will be the last day of me posting anything else in this wonderful blog. Until then, stay safe. This is Casey Roberts reporting.

Day 30 – Interviews & Dress Blues

The last of the few interviews that were left were completed today. My small group class was able to go through the entire RECEX week and have one hundred percent first time passers. Nobody in the class had to do a phone call or interview a second time. We had to be at the PT field at the same old every day time and then we had to go to class at 0845 hours. I had to do my packet for the course and complete a reservation. I also had to complete the end of course critique. I was able to complete all of that in about thirty minutes or so. By the time 0945 hours rolled around, myself and a few others were dismissed. We were told we had to go to a formation at 1500 hours to get and pay for our Dress Blues/Class As. This was some hot shit. Anyways, the day was easy.

After I was able to get my Dress Blues and Class As, I was done for the day. The next formation will be tomorrow at about 0600 hours at the Soldier Support Institute (SSI). We have to meet in the auditorium so they can check our dog tags and ID cards. Ohh well. Too easy. Until next time folks, this is Casey Roberts reporting.

Day 29 – RECEX Interviews

The second day from hell as I have heard some put it. The telephone calls are all completed. Now if somebody was unable to conduct the first phone call successfully, they might have had to do it again this morning. But, as far as I know, we only had a few casualities on this task. All who became a casualty were able to recover and receive a GO from the evaluator. Nobody permanently failed this mission. ALL GOs! HOOAH!

Our interview took place at 1300 hours and we had all GOs first time around. The pucker factor was huge. But, in time and after you got to know the environment, you will get comfortable. You will then relax a little. We started the interview, as I said, 1300 hours, and we were not complete until 1630 hours. There were three people in our group and everybody did their interview in about forty-five minutes to an hour. Everything worked out. Our evaluator was hilarious. Serious but hilarious. I like this. This is one of the major things I noticed in the Recruiting Command! I noticed that all the Recruiters had what we call PERSONALITY! These people had HUMOR. These people also had an OPEN-MIND and great IPC SKILLS! All of these things put together create an awesome recruiter. One day, I shall be one. Until next time folks, this is Casey Roberts resporting.
